Notes for factory tours

  • The program of plant tours may be changed without notice.
  • The application will be closed as soon as the number of applicants reaches the capacity.
  • There is no guarantee that all applicants will be accepted for the tours.
  • Accompanying persons are not permitted to attend any factory tours
  • Please note, according to circumstance there are some cases that we cannot correspond your request.

  • We can not permit to take photos and videos in any case during factory tour.
  • Please wear the long sleeves and long pants.
  • We can not permit to wear heels and skirt.

    Nagoya Works, NIPPON STEEL & SUMITOMO METAL CORPORATION

  • Nagoya Works is the only integrated steel manufacturer in the industrial area of central Japan. It mainly produces steel sheets for automobiles and packaging cans, as well as steel plates and pipes for resources and energy application.
  • After a brief introduction of the company, we will visit a display of mantel, which is a sliced part of an old blast furnace, followed by the hot strip mill in which a cast slab is reheated and hot-rolled into a coil. The plate mill will be the alternative to the hot strip mill in case it stops for maintenance.
